What is AUS40 marine urea?
AUS40 is a 40% urea solution. A mixture of urea and high quality demineralised water.
It reduces NOx emissions from the exhaust gases of vessel diesel engines. AUS40 must be used in Emissions Control Areas or to meet client environmental policy.
All AUS40 marine urea should comply with ISO18611 standard. Where possible you should try to use pure synthetic urea derived product and not blended.
What are emissions control areas?
Emissions Control Areas (ECA's) are areas of the world in which stricter controls were established and implemented to minimize airborne emissions from the shipping industry. This is defined by ANNEX VI of the 1997 MARPOL protocol.
